Tutoring... One-on-one in the comfort of your home!
Learning Styles
We all have different learning
styles. Some learners can read and understand an idea. A
second group needs to talk and listen to information. Members
of the third group need to work through a demonstration. Many
students also learn in some combination of the three styles.
Although there are many different learning styles, educators
have found three primary categories –
Visual – learns through
seeing, watching and reading
Kinesthetic (also known
as Tactile) – learns by doing and touching
From a tutoring standpoint, it is important to know how your
student learns. The tutor needs to adjust their teaching style
to match with the student’s learning style. In order to have a
successful tutoring session, the student must be able to learn
the materials. It doesn’t matter how well the tutor
instructs if the student doesn’t “get it.”
