What We Do?
Universal Tutors LLC matches students
with top-notch tutors in virtually any
subject available. Our
system is designed to combine the best style of tutoring -
one-on-one with the convenience and flexibility of having the
tutoring take place in your home either face to face or online. Instead of you having to
drive yourself (and your student) to a learning center; we
bring the tutoring right to your home.
The way that our service works is that we collect as much
information we can about the student and create a student
profile. It
helps us learn where the student will need help and also helps
us in providing a customized tutoring experience.
We also look at what the parents and student’s expectations
are. Does the student want to raise their grades to a C? or a
B? or an A?. Building a student profile helps us also to assess your
student’s learning style as well as gauge their personality so
that we can find the right tutor for your student.
We also interview the tutors individually, perform a full
background check, verify the tutors education level with
testing, assess their personality and certify each tutor. It’s important
that our tutors meet your academic needs, time schedule, as
well as your student’s personality.
After we choose an individual to be a tutor, we do a
background check through the proper authorities. We do
this as an added protection for you and your student.
Some of the people we choose to tutor are certified teachers;
others are specialists in their chosen field. These
specialists are people who have careers of their own and are
interested in sharing their knowledge.
The tutor will meet the student at your home at a time that's
agreeable to you and the tutor. The usual course of tutoring
is twice a week, for a total of 2 hours a week. This is
optional, you can do as few or as many tutoring hours per week
you wish. It takes
approximately 2-4 months to raise the grade one or two levels,
depending on the circumstances and the student.
Finally, there must be an adult in the home during the
tutoring session. It is true one-on-one tutoring and usually
is one to two hours in length per session.
